TASK 1

For this task, we decided on a company called Shepard Maldives, a creative agency based in Maldives. The insights we gained from interviewing and having a conversation with them was very useful.

PROJECT 1: Art Direction Ideation

This project aims to develop a strategic and creative art direction concept that responds to a real-world community problem aligned with one or more United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). Students will collaborate across disciplines to explore how art direction and visual storytelling can create social, cultural or environmental impact.

This project was a collaboration with my team mates other subjects. They created a playable game that uses a natural process to clean up radiation in the environment using natural solutions like using plants.

Here is the game overview pdf:

PROJECT 2: Project Management Document

PROJECT 3: Final Art Guide Development

For the final project, we needed to develop a comprehensive Art Direction Guide with each member focusing on specific areas that complete a product launch system.

My role was to create the games concept art guide. This included the Splash art and concept art, 2D and 3D map, Environment assets, Character assets, atmosphere and Gameplay screencaps.

When creating the splash art for the concept art guide, i began by blocking out the scene

I then wanted to have the toxic environment in the center with a higher contrast to direct the viewers attention towards the center.

I began to place all the environmental assets as well as play with lighting and volumetrics.

I added the toxic barrel and spillage to show the radiation and danger prevalent in the game.

I created a different kind of concept art using the orthographic view to show more of how the game would be like when playing it.

This type of concept was inspired by the game Minecraft.
