In the next part of the task we had to use our own pictures we've found online. Ive decided to use my own art pieces as elements for the double exposure.

Fig 1.17 Final image after double exposure

For this image, I wanted to use the image of buildings taken from a bottom perspective to frame my face as well as provide some leading lines pointing towards me as that is the main focal point. I then used two of my own art pieces as elements in the double exposure. The first image (Fig 1.14) was made to look my central processor a.k.a my brain. It is what fuels me and controls my body. The wires connected to it represents the modern era and how everyone is connected to the world in some way. The second image used (Fig 1.15) was placed on my chest area in a way that has the smiley face centered on my heart area. This represents  my overall positive outlook in life and the direction im headed!

Project 2B: Equality poster

TISDC 2024 POSTER COMPETITION
CATEGORY: VISUAL DESIGN
THEME: EQUALITY
SIZE FORMAT: A1 (300dpi)

In this part of the project, we were required to create a poster following the UNSDG goal of equality.  Equality amongst genders, disregarding race, gender, age, religion and socio-status is important in ensuring a sustainable economy. I decided to go with the biggest equality problem that the world faces currently; Gender equality.

Fig 1.19 Reference 2

I liked the idea of having a bright and bold main color as the backdrop and wanted to use a silhouette of two people with different genders as the main subject. I decided to use the double exposure method we learnt in the previous part of this project.

I then had the idea of putting the word "EQUALITY" in an upward staircase formation. I then put a quote by Tony Robins that was fitting of the UNSDG goal.

Fig 1.20 Poster version 1

I had a different idea, following a more graphic poster style which involved some 3D modeling and lighting.

Fig 1.22 Reference 4

For this idea, I wanted to have two models in the center, back to back. This represents that each gender should have each others back when facing problems.
I also wanted to have the word 'EQUALITY' surrounding their heads to emphasize the subject.
I didnt want to give the two subjects any realistic skin color as Equality should not be based on the color of their skin. In that way, it is inclusive by not being a realistic skin color.

Fig 1.25 Lighting and coloring of render

I decided to illuminate the text surrounding their head to provide more emphasis and contrast. I also used a 2 point lighting system to highlight the subjects and draw the viewers eye towards them.

After rendering out the image, I brought it over to photoshop to add more elements to the poster, do some color correction and other final touches. I provided a brief summary of the importance of equality in the bottom left. I also highlighted the areas of gender equality that are important such as, accessibility, health equality, economic equality and education. I also provided more synonyms of equality such as balance, inclusion and equity.
